Shepherdsville Couple Hit by Horrendous H20 Bill

An insane water bill nearly left a Bul­litt County fam­ily under water. The Louisville Water Com­pany charged Bob and Vir­ginia Frye of Shep­herdsville over $20,000, claim­ing they used mil­lions of gal­lons of water at their empty Louisville rental prop­erty in just a cou­ple of months. So the cou­ple got in touch with a local tv news depart­ment to see if they would help. And the folks at WAVE 3 did come through. The tv sta­tion asked the com­pany to review the bill, and then the Fryes got their new water bill. It was just $521. The com­pany isn’t pro­vid­ing many details, only to say the bill was adjusted.

Hodgenville Couple Indicted on Heroin Charges

A Hod­genville cou­ple has been indicted by a LaRue County grand jury on drug traf­fick­ing charges. The larue County Her­ald says Tiffany Under­wood and James Alex Clif­ford, are each charged with traf­fick­ing and pos­ses­sion of heroin and mar­i­juana. Police say find­ing heroin in the area is rare.

Shave Your Head to Raise Funds to Fight Cancer

How would you like to get shaved bald for a good cause? Com­ing up next month, it’s the Saint Baldrick’s foun­da­tion fundraiser, where peo­ple get their get their scalps shorn to raise money to fight child­hood can­cer. They’re hop­ing to get 100 peo­ple to shave their heads. That’s at the Pritchard Com­mu­nity Cen­ter In Eliz­a­beth­town on March 25th, and walk in shavees are welcome.

Crume Drug Store In Bardstown Raided by FBI

The FBI has raided a Bard­stown phar­macy. Agents won’t give many details, except to say they exe­cuted a search war­rant on Crume Drug Store, say­ing it was part of an ongo­ing health­care fraud inves­ti­ga­tion. The FBI is says it’s work­ing with the Ken­tucky Board of Phar­macy and the Depart­ment of Health and Human Ser­vices. The store was shut down for a while yes­ter­day, but has since re-opened. Crume has been around for over 150 years.

Louisville Girl Dies of Injuries from Sonora Wreck

A 10-year-old girl has died after being in a car wreck in Sonora Mon­day. Ruby Sali­nas died from her injuries yes­ter­day. She was a pas­sen­ger in an SUV being dri­ven by her father Ken­tucky 84. For unknown rea­sons, that SUV drove into the path of a dump truck that had the right of way.

Hardin Co Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Neighbor

A Hardin County man charged with killing a neigh­bor has pleaded guilty to the crime. The News Enter­prise says Joshua Hines has been given 30 years in prison for the killing of 36-year-old Toni Bal­lard. That hap­pened back in April of last year at her home on Bard­stown Road north of Elizabethtown.

Case of E’Town Man Charged with Rape Goes to Grand Jury

The case of an Eliz­a­beth­town man accused of rap­ing a men­tally hand­i­capped woman is headed to a grand jury. The News Enter­prise says a dis­trict judge found prob­a­ble cause against 37 year old Shawn C. Mans­field. Mans­field was charged ear­lier this month with rape and sex­ual abuse.

E’Town Tops For One Of The Top Growth Jobs in U-S

Eliz­a­beth­town is one of the best places in the coun­try to hold one of the best jobs in the coun­try. That from US News and World Report. The mag­a­zine says Eliz­a­beth­town is the place to be an occu­pa­tional ther­a­pist. They’re say­ing expected growth for the job is at 33 and a half per­cent between 2010 and 2020. They’re also report­ing that the best-paid 10 per­cent in the pro­fes­sion make about $102,000 a year, and the highest-paid peo­ple in the pro­fes­sion work in Eliz­a­beth­town, Sher­man, Texas, and Longview, Texas.

E’Town Gas Prices

Bulitt Co Burglars Caught on Tape

Two peo­ple have been caught on cam­era bur­glar­iz­ing a Bul­litt County home last week, and one of them was in what we can only call here a very unflat­ter­ing posi­tion. Police say the home­owner installed secu­rity cam­eras after being bur­glar­ized last sum­mer. And this time when they were get­ting ripped off, they got plenty of infor­ma­tion on tape, includ­ing what the bur­glars and the get­away car looked like. Police are look­ing for a late model Chevy Mal­ibu with Indi­ana tags.
