An insane water bill nearly left a Bullitt County family under water. The Louisville Water Company charged Bob and Virginia Frye of Shepherdsville over $20,000, claiming they used millions of gallons of water at their empty Louisville rental property in just a couple of months. So the couple got in touch with a local tv news department to see if they would help. And the folks at WAVE 3 did come through. The tv station asked the company to review the bill, and then the Fryes got their new water bill. It was just $521. The company isn’t providing many details, only to say the bill was adjusted.
Hodgenville Couple Indicted on Heroin Charges
A Hodgenville couple has been indicted by a LaRue County grand jury on drug trafficking charges. The larue County Herald says Tiffany Underwood and James Alex Clifford, are each charged with trafficking and possession of heroin and marijuana. Police say finding heroin in the area is rare.
Shave Your Head to Raise Funds to Fight Cancer

Coming up next month, it’s the Saint Baldrick’s foundation fundraiser, where people get their get their scalps shorn to raise money to fight childhood cancer. They’re hoping to get 100 people to shave their heads. That’s at the Pritchard Community Center In Elizabethtown on March 25th, and walk in shavees are welcome.
Crume Drug Store In Bardstown Raided by FBI
The FBI has raided a Bardstown pharmacy. Agents won’t give many details, except to say they executed a search warrant on Crume Drug Store, saying it was part of an ongoing healthcare fraud investigation. The FBI is says it’s working with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy and the Department of Health and Human Services. The store was shut down for a while yesterday, but has since re-opened. Crume has been around for over 150 years.
Louisville Girl Dies of Injuries from Sonora Wreck
A 10-year-old girl has died after being in a car wreck in Sonora Monday. Ruby Salinas died from her injuries yesterday. She was a passenger in an SUV being driven by her father Kentucky 84. For unknown reasons, that SUV drove into the path of a dump truck that had the right of way.
Hardin Co Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Neighbor
A Hardin County man charged with killing a neighbor has pleaded guilty to the crime. The News Enterprise says Joshua Hines has been given 30 years in prison for the killing of 36-year-old Toni Ballard. That happened back in April of last year at her home on Bardstown Road north of Elizabethtown.
Case of E’Town Man Charged with Rape Goes to Grand Jury
The case of an Elizabethtown man accused of raping a mentally handicapped woman is headed to a grand jury. The News Enterprise says a district judge found probable cause against 37 year old Shawn C. Mansfield. Mansfield was charged earlier this month with rape and sexual abuse.
E’Town Tops For One Of The Top Growth Jobs in U-S
Elizabethtown is one of the best places in the country to hold one of the best jobs in the country. That from US News and World Report. The magazine says Elizabethtown is the place to be an occupational therapist. They’re saying expected growth for the job is at 33 and a half percent between 2010 and 2020. They’re also reporting that the best-paid 10 percent in the profession make about $102,000 a year, and the highest-paid people in the profession work in Elizabethtown, Sherman, Texas, and Longview, Texas.

Bulitt Co Burglars Caught on Tape
Two people have been caught on camera burglarizing a Bullitt County home last week, and one of them was in what we can only call here a very unflattering position. Police say the homeowner installed security cameras after being burglarized last summer. And this time when they were getting ripped off, they got plenty of information on tape, including what the burglars and the getaway car looked like. Police are looking for a late model Chevy Malibu with Indiana tags.
